Why running matters

As physios, we love to see kids running. Whether they play footy, netball, or just enjoy running, kids learn best when they are excited about what they are doing! So, if your childs wants to run faster or improve their coordination and agility skills, we would love to help! Running helps with coordination, motor and muscle development and boosts our mood and self-esteem.

For some of us running well doesn’t come naturally. There are tips and tricks to running that we share as part of our sessions. Our aim is to build running confidence so kids want to run more often.

Age-appropriate skill development

Activities:

· Running drills for speed and form
· Fun agility drills to improve coordination and speed
· Developing power and strength for jumping
· Collaborative games
· Active play for health and fun
· Injury prevention/management tips.

Meet your coach

Hilary started running at Little Athletics here in Melbourne and went on to compete as a Division 1 College Runner in the USA. She still loves running, and all the health benefits it brings, which is why she has designed this holiday program for kids of all skill levels.

As a qualified physiotherapist, Hilary enjoys exploring movement with children and teens and uses fun, goal-oriented games to engage them at their level. Read more about Hilary.
